Colder outside than in the water

The first title was 'smelly water' and then I thought that is off putting.

Today the water temp was 15.5 and the outside temp was 10. As soon as one got out it felt far colder than in the water.

It was also super smelly - like a sulphur type smell...we were a bit worried that it might be sewage. But, it appears that it might be because of all the kelp on the beach - as it is decomposing it release bacteria. Hopefully that is what we were smelling...
